Ricci was one of the four children born to Sarah Murdoch and Ralph Ricci in Santa Monica, California. Her mother worked as a Ford Agency model in the 1960s. She later worked as a real-estate agent. Her father worked as lawyer, as well as the therapist for primal-screams. Ricci said she was Italian because of her last name.
